Who We Are…
Substance Abuse Foundation is a supportive and caring recovery community with a unique home-like environment. Our non-profit organization has a 17-year history of providing affordable, professional community-based drug and alcohol treatment for people of diverse backgrounds, and those with special needs. We value each individual, and our professional and experienced treatment staff designs each person’s treatment program to fit their needs and substance abuse history. Our wide array of Treatment Services include residential and outpatient care, supportive services, social model detoxification and aftercare. We also provide drug-and-alcohol-free housing for those who complete treatment and need additional time to rebuild their lives. Our treatment center is licensed and certified by the State of California, and we are nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for Residential and Outpatient Treatment and Community Housing for people seeking drug/alcohol rehabilitation, including those with a criminal justice history.

Our Mission and Values …
The mission of the Substance Abuse Foundation is to provide
community-based recovery and rehabilitation services and housing for
those who wish to recover from substance abuse and reintegrate into the
community as productive members. Our emphasis is to provide assistance
and treatment for the homeless, indigent, low-income and special-needs
populations who are underserved. We ascribe to a philosophy of
combining professional therapeutic interventions and education about
the disease of drug/alcohol abuse with supportive 12-step program
participation. The agency also believes that treatment services must
individually address each participant’s drug/alcohol and other needs,
as well as be sensitive to the cultural and linguistic needs of the
individual. The agency also values peer supportive services in all its
programs. The residential program incorporates the social model
philosophy, where a friendly and supportive “family” environment is
created and individuals each have a stake in the community’s
therapeutic environment. |

Substance Abuse Foundation has a sliding scale that is based on ability to pay. We honor most insurance, HMO or other third-party payee coverage. We also provide an array of special programs that are publicly funded to serve low-income and homeless people who do not have insurance coverage, including Drug/Medi-Cal participants, HIV positive substance abusers, public benefits recipients, veterans, homeless people, female addicts, pregnant and parenting women, people who are court-ordered and those who participate in other federal, state and county justice programs.
